Hummingbird Hammocks started with the simple desire to build a hammock for one man, Founder and Designer, Chris Loidolt. After looking around his parachute rigging loft he decided to use the skydiving materials he had on hand, and combined with the design and construction techniques borrowed from the Parachute Industry Association, created a hammock that was strong, light-weight and easier to pack than most other hammocks on the market. Shortly after completing his first hammock, Chris realized that it was unfair to keep these ultralight hammocks all to himself and took the advice of friends and family to bring the Hummingbird Hammocks brand to the masses.
Designed right here in the USA, Hummingbird’s goal is to deliver the best gear for great adventures and enhance their fans ability to enjoy the journey. At the end of the day, it’s about doing the most with what you’ve got, that’s the American way.
